Tonnica and I caused some major mayhem in Paragon City last night, with luck we should be kicking equal amounts of ass tomorrow too!

I've been playin WoW too much lately, I could use a nights break.  What level are you and Tonnica's characters, Mr. Analog?  Dranor is currently at level 24, and Ustauk is 34 or 36 I think.  If your characters are lower or higher then that, I could sk or exemplar with one of you (Dranor especially for exemplaring, I had a little too much fun playing with flying after a respec, and he's accumulated a fair bit of debt :) )

Last night the toons we were playing were around level 8 and 6 I think so it'd be some lower level adventuring.

Surprisingly fast adventuring tho' with two blasters on board. Despite the drawbacks of being composed of Fragilium™ that is.

Hmm, by brother and his friend created a couple of toons on my account when he was out for Christmas.  I'll see what level they are, and ask him if I can take them a out for a spin.  Or else I'll create a new one and try and level him quickly, and maybe sk with you guys.

Ah the fun of pairing up and streetthug-jumping to level 7/8 in the space of 3ish hours... Them were the days... Almost tempted on getting back into 'gon but are the updates since December worth it? ;)

Yeah, there are a lot of balancing changes that have made missions much more doable.

Well, Bop & the Grand Canuck dished out some much needed law enforcement tonight. We did the Cherry Hills missions last night (and plucky Bop decided to go do hers alone after the Grand Canuck was summoned to his secret bunker for some form of eating ritual..?).

Bop was sad that her heroic friend Wil Scarlet couldn't join her tonight :( oh well, there's always later!

Once again Paragon City is microscopically safer thanks to the efforts of the DASHING merry man who FLINGS FISTFULLS of FIRE at his FOES; Wil Scarlet and his newfound sidekick Bop, the GIRL-ROBOT whose POWERFUL arm-mounted CANNONS mete out JUSTICE on the streets of PARAGON CITY!

"Hey down there!"

Hit lvl 14 last night, and got superjump and made it up the statue! Now if I can only figure out how to get on the top of the Atlas statue...

 Grats!

If I recall correctly, Atlas requires a jump from the nearby building... Of course lately there have been "TeleportBot" heroes doing favours for those who /request...

I picked SuperSpeed for Dante Dirt and you know what, SuperJump-lover that I am (as you probably recall from my little screenshot slideshow I did when Theophilus first got SJ) I have to say I am converted over to the "SuperSpeed is best" camp.

Seriously.

The number one reason is because when you are zipping through the streets with SS on, there is an almost 0% chance of a passing mob getting aggro - that's in the description, and it's true. With SJ I would often tick off Purples when SJing across a big map and would get some owies on the way to my distant destination.

Also, within missions, wow, SS rocks! Almost any door mish I first turn on SS (and sprint, for an extra boost), open the map, and hit R and cycle through most of the entire map - with taking only the occasional hit. If it is anything along the lines of "defeat the gang leader and/or find the single item" then I can get to the "end", defeat the minions in the immediate vicinity, and up pops "Mission Accomplished"! Then I can go back and pick off the minions for extra XP, *if I so choose* but I did not have to crawl through them scattered peons first.

Okay, I've said my piece. [/Superspeedevangelism] ... Thanks for listening :D

look for me in Global Chat "@Dirt" ... what's your global handle?

PS: I currently have the fortune-teller mish, gonna go into PP and go /request I Have FortuneTeller Mish: Now Accepting Bids From Wealthy High-Level Heroes To Join Me!

Sorry 'bout the Vahz massacre yesterday, Bop... I blame the NW lag (I think it's cuz my wireless NIC is in a crappy corner so the signal consistency sux0rs) + my addiction to SuperSpeed. Is there a 12 step program for that? ;)

At least in your memory and for your vindication, I managed to rescue the last office worker and take down Slicer, so Paragon is safe from the plague... for now.

Meh, no worries I made lvl 15 last night anyway. It's just tough when your mentor has told you to stay put and you don't know what they are doing for several minutes then you get into a situation where you drop 3 levels 'cause your mentor isn't around and then draw aggro.

Dante Dirt must solo a lot of missions ;)

Anyway, I should be on tonight as Disc is probably cancelled (rain). Maybe I'll catch up to your level!

 *dances forgiven dance*

Maybe next time you just sit AFK at the entrance and I'll just run to the end and take out Da Boss ;) <-- pretty much what had to be done with all the Puke being thrown about there... And they were mostly +1 to *me* :o

SK'ing for levelling purposes is mostly ineffective because the way the XP is divided between party members of differing levels and their ability to deal damage, when we are closer level-wise then we should team up, unless you have a really cool mission, in which case SK me all the way.

My understanding (not necessarily correct!) ...

If we are on the same team and a baddie who is +5 or lower is defeated - no matter who does the final blow, or even no matter who does any damage - then all teammates get to share the XP.

The XP awarded is based on your fighting level, with higher XP given for someone a larger # of levels higher than you... so if you are not SK'ed you get more XP (no shock there).

But of course be warned that if you are unSK'ed at level 14 and I defeat a level 20 then I think you'd get nada, whereas a level 19 defeat would be mucho XP for ya so would be totally worth being part of the team. That's from what I understand. I may be off by 1 or something here.

And yes, the XP may be split amongst the team (proportionate to each hero's level), but the *total* XP given is a bit greater (scaling dependent on # of team members) so with a duo it's not too bad, since while one hero is pausing to recover some endurance the other might still be ringing up some XP sales in the ol' crimefighting cash register. When I was starting Captain Puncho, me and a blaster of the same level were teamed and street-fighting in two different areas in the same zone, and thus got faster XP than if either of us were on our own. I'm not sure how much more, but it was noticeable.  B)

Anyway, I certainly enjoyed the change of pace doing a door mish, especially as part of a story arc... but next time I'll pick a Lost/Skulls/Hellions or even Council villain since they are more close-range-pain baddies. :) That is, if you're interested.

 Guess who's level 18!?

Bop also figured out how to get to the top of Atlas without begging for a TP (superjump and strategy!)

Oh yeah, and extra special thanks go out to Minti Fresh, who got me from 17.3 to 17.8 in only 4 missions! We rock!

Another call out to a Rad/Rad defender called Neutronian (sp) who gave me lots of presants, I'm not saying it pays to have a sexy avatar, yet still...

Okay, then I'll say it! It totally pays - my Theophilus kept getting "hit on" by this big spikey scrapper dude... He was 2 levels ahead of me, threw some enhancements to me periodically. And he kept [f]ollowing me from behind, especially letting the catcalls go when I would land from my jump, or rest - a bit creepy, I must say ;)

PS: gratz! What are you powers right now?

I've got (level 18 blaster Dante Dirt) the following:
fireball (AoE plus DoT), firebreath (Cone - with conerange enhancements), fireblast (Ranged plus DoT moderate dmg), flares (Ranged minor dmg), smokegrenades (targeted AoE -AccuracyForBaddies), and of course caltrops (-Speed -Recharge for baddies). In other words Me Likes Da Big Mobs With Lotsa Baddies!

I've got a buncha lev15 DOs (gonna be red real soon!) cuz I can't afford to get lev20 DOs in every slot and still expect to buy decent lev25 SOs by the time I get to lev22... but Hasten is a MUST, that is my first one I slot-fill :)

PS: shock of shocks, I made Dante use only 4/5 Hasten slots with reduce-recharge-time. The 5th is filled with +DEF (cuz Blasters get hurt so badly yknow) - this barely reduced the total time between Hasten activations (although I am gonna pick the 6th slot when i get to lev19) ... and it actually made a noticeable difference in how often a huge mob would kill me nigh-instantly! (of course, I didn't get combatjump which is why I need some kinda +DEF... you prolly are fine correct?)

Well, it helps if you don't run headfirst into them Han Solo-style... ;)

I wouldn't say Bop is a complete sniper, but she hates getting too close to thugs and other icky things (Vahz, Clockwork, etc, etc).

Possibly the highest point in SC, that isn't artifically capped...

I earned the "Tough" badge last night, that meas that I have absorbed 100,000+ pts of damage to date.

I remember the first time I was superjumping up the outside window ledges of the really high SC skyscrapers... and suddenly I couldn't jump any higher. It was like, why? I should be permitted to touch the sun, if I so desire! So then I wondered if those who picked hover, or especially fly, would also find an artificial and invisible "ceiling" ABOVE which some of the buildings still exceeded... Then I stopped wondering about pointless things and watched The Daily Show for some easy LOL moments.
