My flickr gallery for the trip, a couple of the last pictures didnt take very clear but I was sorta late showing up to the playoff and was taking them as I was walking.  In any case all the "course" shots were taken on Saturday during round 1.  The later few images are during the awards ceremony.

My flickr account is a pro account so all the image originals are available for download, they have a resolution of 2592x1944

Wasnt that hard the 2nd and 3rd round, the first was hard because it was unlike anything I have ever played before.  Lots of climbing, but lost discs were rare and if they were lost it was normally do to extreme ledges or something, but the groups I was in didnt lose a thing all weekend.

Also worth noting that this is now the permanent home for the Lost Egg tourny.  A great location for it, and I will be going back every year.  Wayne and Drumheller were making it very hard for Disc to take place there, and this new area gave us 2 thumbs up and they are looking at making a couple permanent courses out there.

Oh ya....

For 3rd Alyson and I both got $25 in Brasco Bucks, which we spent on new plastic (i got a Star Wraith and she got a Shark i think).

Druid got a $100 gift cert for someplace in Calgary but traded Brasco the cert for a new Innova disc bag.  I am not sure what Jason got...i think it was $50 for the Calgary shop.

2 new discs in my bag now though, a Star Beast and a Star Wraith, cant wait to try them out.

Rockin' sounds like a great time was had by all. It's a pity that the City of Drumheller is butting in, that's what killed the annual Wayne HOG rally :(

Is it ok if EDGA links to your Flickr gallery?

It was a great weekend all in all. It's too bad about Wayne, I wish i could have played it one last time. I was worried about our buddy Fred at the last chance saloon losing all this income. But one of his employees was playing in the intermediate division with us and he said Fred was a little happy because the Aug. long weekend is his busiest weekend (I guess it was packed Friday/Sat. night) and he can't accommodate the disc players on top of the regular crowed that weekend... the following weekend would be better.

I don’t know why they moved it to the Aug. long weekend, its hard for ppl to get the time off (like our buddy Silver Surfer), and its the universal wedding weekend. But i guess maybe it works out better for the out of province ppl. A lot from B.C. was there, and even a little bit of Saskatchewan. 75 in total, best attendance yet.

The rain sucked a little on Friday, our buddy Drunkener got caught in the middle of a torrential downpour while putting up his tent. It also delayed the tournament start till 12:30pm due to the muddy slippery conditions on the hill. But by 5:00 it was pretty much all dried up.

The course is defiantly on par if not harder then the Wayne course. Some of the holes have a similar design to counter part holes in Wayne, except the Star land holes are a tad more extreme (higher elevation, longer clif to clif drives, sharper peaks).

I'd like to make an honorable mention to my main completion, "Luke", a 13 year old boy, who i barely beat in a playoff for 1st place. This kid has a rock solid game, nothing but 3's across the card, where my game was 4, 2, 4, 2, 3, 3, 5 etc. He grew up next to the parkland course in Calgary and is a fast rising star. Im sure the next time we meet, he'll kick my @$$.

Looks like with my victory i now advance to... well Advanced Am which is one behind pro. Im sure i'll lose tournaments for years to come now, but having never placed before, At least i know i earned the right to be there.
I only drink the blood of my enemies, and on occasion a strawberry smoothie.

My photo album has a picture of Luke getting his 2nd place.  While lacking in power, the kids fundamentals were flawless, only a few bad drives but the kid would follow them up with a perfect arching midrange shot to within 15 feet making it a rather simple put for the kid.

Having not played the Wayne course I cant compare, but as Ive said before I really had a good time.  The course while extreme didn't break down the players physically (well, maybe 1 or 2 holes) and not a single person complained about the course or the area it was held in; sure comparisons were made to Wayne but nearly everyone was hugely impressed with the new home for the lost egg.

The August long weekend does sorta suck for many, and with weddings and such forcing some people to not show, the attendance was large and from 3 provinces.  I actually perfer that weekend.  I can take a single day off, have 4 days and be relaxed.
