Wifi/SIP/h.323 handsets?
« on: March 08, 2007, 11:04:10 AM »
I can't seem to find any decent (not too expensive) Wifi SIP/IAX/h.323 phone handsets. I'd kinda like to replace my crappy "curtis" 10$ piece of crap ;D And since I have Asterisk running my home phone now, I can use just about any sort of phone (including phones that need a cord, I have a SIP adapter, but Id still like cordless handsets, hopefully ones that allow multiple lines).

Could you guys suggest something? I haven't had any luck so far.

I don't think any of the are cheap.

We should be rolling out SIP based phones here We are looking at the Polycom SoundPoint IP 501 and 601 handsets for our office. Even at the heavily subsidized discount we are getting the hadsets would cost between $300 and $400 each.

Have you looked around at forums that discuss Asterisk? I have heard of people using it for home use but it seems ultra rare.

You could just buy a longer cord...

You would be best off just getting a NORMAL cordless and using it with the SIP adapter, if you are looking for something better but not too expensive.
