Brad Bird was gonna direct a live action film, based on the 1906 quake... imagine 2012 but with a character-driven story (I would presume).

That is going to be tough, when you consider that you're going to need period costumes, settings, etc. It's not an inexpensive venture.

Yeah, it's like $200MM+ so that's why it's likely never gonna happen.

Especially in these economic tough times. Heck, certain Albertan politicians are even rumbling about a PST! That says it all!  :o
