Actually I quite enjoy reading things with differing viewpoints, namely because I learn something usually. Whether it's what the author wanted me to learn or not is a pipe of a different colour...

wow just rediscovered Guy Cabellero's rant about temperance @ the end of the "ZONTAR" episode, how did I forget this little snippet of genius!?

(rant starts @ 7min 10sec)

-------

omg look what 25 years can do to a man!
the stark contrast with the above, vs. this Rogers commercial esp. starting @ 6min 5sec -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=683mhxRgVYk (quite the journey, from stage manager to respected member of genius comic ensemble including countless noteable characters to sellout/corporate monkey!)

"It is easy to become deluded by the audience, because they laugh. Don't let them make you buy the lie that what you're doing is for the laughter. Is what we're doing comedy? Probably not. Is it funny? Probably yes. Where do the really best laughs come from? Terrific connections made intellectually, or terrific revelations made emotionally."

imo we need more of this kind of educational material for kids, like back in the old days when surviving to adulthood was rare! ;)
