via [ on-topic article I was reading about checked vs unchecked exceptions in Java --> Aspect-oriented programming --> "noop" --> xyzzy --> Colossal Cave Adventure --> Willie Crowther --> BBN and a bunch of other people involved in accidentally building what we all use every day now ]

I like that you put the mental path of how you got there. My mind follows weird paths like that, too. One picks up a lot of trivia just clicking interesting links.
Prayin' for a 20!

gcc thorin.c -pedantic -o Thorin
compile successful

In this case it helped me realize how I am not usually *intending* to get so ridiculously side-tracked from Actual Important Things.

I still am too often, and gotta work on reducing the frequency and degree, but instead of being in denial that I have a curiosity itch that sometimes is irresistible I just gotta be honest when it happens and learn from the self-reflection to maybe recognize it and hit the brakes a lot earlier next time :)
