So yesterday I setup an amazon lightsail instance https://aws.amazon.com/lightsail/ .

Very painless.. I have nginx, letsencrypt running, I have setup https://portainer.io/ to manage docker and it appears so far it is running under 10% load just doing proxy and 1 docker.

I am running the smallest version which is $3.50 USD a month, first month free.

I will let you know how it goes.

For low use personal stuff that only bursts once and a while this is looking like a very affordable option.

Small update.. I figured as much but ended up going from the $3.50US to $5US/mo machine as 512GBMB was not enough RAM to run what I wanted I now have 1GB and more hard drive space.

Plus side, moving configurations to more powerful hardware and moving static public IP assignments in Lightsail is fairly easy.

I suspect MB,GB or GB,TB was the intended unit in the bolded above.

the option is 512MB or 1GB of RAM for the first two service levels.. It is also 20GB and 40GB of Hard drive space.
